Questions, questions, questions.

At least one commentator has been asking what our wonderful nannies look like and why we don’t have many of their pictures online. There is a reason for that: they are very shy in front of camera. Another commentator asked how we found our wonderful nannies. The answer is members of their families have been working with my family for as long as anyone can remember. Astuti has been working with us since Alec was born in 2003 and Aunti, Astuti’s niece, just joined us in January. We take care of them like family and they both LOVE our kids tremendously (Astuti actually cried when Alec and I went to Bali alone). There have been many times when I came home unexpectedly and find them playing happily. And the kids love them, too. Alec has learned tons of Bahasa Indonesia from them (and even a bit of Javanese) and the nannies have learned some English from Alec. We feel very, very, fortunate to have two genuinely loving and caring nannies.
