My sweet little angel

It seems like it has taken me forever to write about Sammy. Between the classes I take, ongoing projects, the Consulate receptions or invitations from others, and, most of all, playing with the kids, I am constantly pulled in different directions at the same time. And then to top it all off, I need to travel to Bali for my next project. I now know what Sean must feel everyday. I’ve never been so proud of him for what he has accomplished. I think I have a better deal compare with Sean toward the kids. I can do pretty much anything I need to do from our house (except for the Bali part).

Sammy is 10 months old and starting to walk. I guess because she is so light compare to Alec when he was her age -- Sam is willing to walk, cruising instead of crawling. And pearly whites, here we come! We had a couple of false alarms but Sam has 4 teeth now. Alec had 8 when he was her age. But Sam has a cute personality that make strangers want to kidnap her :) She always waves bye, and she always says ‘hey’ and talks and babbles (loudly) at strangers. I usually have no clue what she is babbling about, but it sure is cute and warms my heart every time. And did I mention it's LOUD? People's faces just light up to see her looking at them. People stop us in the street constantly to say how beautiful and happy she looks, and how her laugh makes their day. She is so outgoing, I think I may need to plant a chip on her before to long so we know where she is...

Time is passing by so quickly, I don’t remember exactly when she started crawling. Again, being small, compact, and light weight gives her the advantage of being quick. Turn around for a second and by the time we look back, she is on the other side of the room chasing one of Alec toys. I love watching her try new things -- anything from food, toys, textures (flowers are always fun), smells (flowers again), or just new, mysterious things like grains of rice or temporary tattoos. (Don’t worry, no scorpions or snake tattoos for Sam -- I choose cute ones like butterfly or puppies :) ).

I know, no mother in this world will say unpleasant things about their children. And I'm totally prejudiced, I know, but I think she is the most wonderfully, beautiful and entertaining baby in the world. And if you can't keep your meal down, that's your problem :P

She loves having her picture taken, making faces, smiling, crawling around and turning back to make sure her every move is being recorded. She has a really good hand grip and knows what she likes. One time I put bunch of random toys like stuffed animals, lego bricks, dump trucks and musical toys in front of her so she could choose. She crawled over the toys grabbed her favorite -- the dump truck -- even though it was the farthest away and hardest to get.

I love watching her as she grows into child from a helpless baby. I can't thank her enough for opening up my heart, and letting me appreciate every day that I get to see her beautiful face. She has done so much for me by just being her.

So here are some pictures of my sweet little angel...

Wait!

I don't think she really knows what she looks like, but she's always happy to see another happy baby with giant smile on the mirror

You are one lucky mom! Congratulations. She is surely sooooo cute and adorable. They look so alike, huh? (Between Alec and Sammy). Blessed you, proud Momma!
